Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you want to know about District — breakfast, brunch, lunch, coffee, catering, and more.
Breakfast & Brunch
Is District Donuts a good place for breakfast in New Orleans?
Yes! Breakfast is one of the things we do best. District is a full breakfast and brunch destination, not just a donut shop. While our menus vary across locations, you'll find the likes of scratch biscuit sandwiches, fluffy buttermilk pancakes with rotating creative toppings, breakfast burritos, Creole BBQ shrimp & grits, and a full lineup of specialty coffee roasted in house by Cool Kids Coffee Roasters.
We serve breakfast at all of our New Orleans locations. No reservation needed.
Does District Donuts serve brunch?
Absolutely. District is open through the brunch hours every day of the week. There's no need to wait for the weekend. Our full breakfast and brunch menu runs all morning, so whether you're coming in on a Tuesday or a lazy Sunday, you'll find the same pancakes, kolaches, biscuit sandwiches, donuts, and locally roasted coffee waiting for you.
Check our locations page for hours at your nearest District.
What makes District's breakfast different from other New Orleans breakfast spots?
A few things set us apart:
- Everything is made from scratch. Our pancakes, biscuits, donuts and buns are prepared in house daily. No mixes, no shortcuts.
- The coffee is ours. We roast our own beans through Cool Kids Coffee Roasters, which means the cup you get at District is different from anywhere else in the city.
- The menu rotates. We run seven rotating donut flavors every week alongside a breakfast menu that changes with the seasons. You can come back every week and find something new.
- We go all day. District isn't just a morning stop. We serve lunch and dinner too, with acclaimed burgers, chicken sandwiches, and sliders that keep people coming back well past noon.
- Five locations across New Orleans. Magazine Street, Harrison/Lakeview, Elmwood, Arabella, and Downtown — plus Las Vegas at the Cosmopolitan Hotel.
Where can I eat breakfast on Magazine Street in New Orleans?
District has two locations on or near Magazine Street. Our original spot at 2209 Magazine Street in the Irish Channel, and our Arabella location nearby. Both serve our full breakfast and brunch menu every day.
If you're exploring the Magazine Street corridor, we're one of the easiest stops for a great breakfast, a quick biscuit sandwich and coffee, or a box of specialty donuts to take with you.
What time does District open for breakfast?
Hours vary slightly by location. Visit our locations page for the exact opening time at the District nearest you. Most locations open early enough to catch a proper breakfast before a morning meeting or a day of exploring the city.
Lunch & Dinner
Does District serve lunch?
Yes — and lunch is a serious part of what we do. District is a true all-day restaurant: specialty coffee and fresh baked goods in the morning, a full breakfast and brunch menu through midday, and an acclaimed lunch lineup of burgers, chicken sandwiches, and sliders that has built its own loyal following.
We're one of the few restaurants in America operating at a high level across every part of the day! From the first coffee of the morning to a stacked burger at lunch. Check our menus page for the full lunch lineup at your nearest location.
What burgers does District serve?
Our burgers are built on a proprietary blend of Creekstone Farms beef, pattied in house and served on housemade brioche buns baked fresh daily. Creekstone is one of the most respected beef programs in the country — the same source used by acclaimed steakhouses — and we chose it because we believe a great burger deserves great beef.
The result is a burger that has earned its own reputation entirely separate from our donuts. Visit our menus page for the current burger lineup.
What is the hot chicken and honey butter French toast biscuit?
It's exactly what it sounds like! It has become one of the most talked-about items in the city. Our hot chicken hand-breaded, fried crispy and brushed with hot butter then stacked on a housemade French toast biscuit and finished with whipped honey butter. The combination of heat, sweetness, and our signature biscuit is the kind of thing people drive across town for.
It's available all day, and it tends to sell out. Come early.
Is District an all-day restaurant?
Yes — and we think it's one of the things that makes District genuinely rare. Most restaurants do one meal well. District runs a specialty coffee program, a scratch bakery, a full breakfast and brunch menu, and an acclaimed burger and chicken sandwich program all under one roof, all day long.
There aren't many places in New Orleans, or anywhere, that pull that off at this level. Whether you're coming in at 8am for a latte and a donut or at 1pm for a Creekstone beef burger on a housemade brioche bun, the same commitment to quality runs through all of it.
Donuts
What kinds of donuts does District make?
We make small batch donuts fresh throughout the day. Our catalog includes more than 200 flavors, and we rotate seven creative flavors every month alongside our staple glazed, cinnamon sugar, and chocolate-glazed options.
Flavors have included Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Ginger Mint Julep, Limoncello Poppyseed, Rum Caramel Blondie, and Strawberry Shortcake. The lineup changes weekly, so follow us on Instagram @districtdonuts to see what's fresh.
Are District Donuts the best donuts in New Orleans?
We'll let the reviews speak for themselves. Foodable Network ranked District as the #1 donut in America with a 95.6 consumer sentiment rating. We've also been featured on Food Network and covered by nola.com and The Advocate for our donut program.
Come in and decide for yourself. We think the rotating flavors and freshly made small batches make for a pretty compelling case.
How often do your donut flavors change?
We rotate seven specialty donut flavors every month, on top of our permanent staples. Follow @districtdonuts on Instagram for weekly flavor announcements — we post as soon as the new rotation drops.
Coffee
Does District Donuts serve good coffee?
Yes — and it's not an afterthought. District roasts its own coffee beans through Cool Kids Coffee Roasters, our in-house roastery. That means the coffee you drink at District is sourced and roasted specifically for us, not purchased from a third-party supplier.
We serve espresso drinks, drip coffee, and seasonal specialty options. It pairs well with donuts. We've been told it pairs well with everything.
What is Cool Kids Coffee Roasters?
Cool Kids Coffee Roasters is District's own in-house coffee roasting brand. We source, roast, and serve our own beans — and we sell bags of Cool Kids coffee to take home. As a bonus, we share $1 from every bag sold with New Orleans nonprofits.
You can order Cool Kids coffee online at districtdonuts.com/cool-kids-coffee or pick up a bag at any District location.
Is District a coffee shop in New Orleans?
District is a full all-day restaurant that also takes coffee seriously. With Cool Kids Coffee Roasters roasting our beans in-house, you're getting a specialty coffee experience — alongside fresh donuts, scratch-made pancakes, acclaimed burgers, and a full menu that runs from morning through dinner. Think of us as a breakfast and lunch destination that happens to also be a great place to get coffee in New Orleans.

General
Is District Donuts just a donut shop?
District made its first splash with donuts, but we've grown into a full all-day dining destination. Today, a typical District visit might look like: a latte and a fresh donut in the morning, a hot chicken and honey butter French toast biscuit for brunch, or a Creekstone beef burger on a housemade brioche bun at lunch.
The donuts are still here — made fresh in small batches all day — but they're one part of a much bigger culinary program: a specialty coffee roastery, a scratch bakery, a breakfast and brunch kitchen, and an acclaimed burger and sandwich program, all running at full tilt from open to close.
Does District Donuts take reservations?
Most District locations are walk-in. Our downtown District All Day location may have different availability — check the locations page or contact the location directly for details.
Does District Donuts offer delivery?
